Tessa Talks

Tessa watching the full moon rising

Full moon tonight rising over the mountain and reflected in the pond. Mom asks if I want to come in for the night, but the temperature is perfect and from my place on the porch I can watch the moon rise and see all the action in the yard.

Humans think that when they retire for the night everything goes silent and comes to a stop, but not on these six acres or anywhere else in the natural world. That’s when the night creatures come out to play, to hunt, to kill and dine on some of the freshest, most organic meat anywhere.

Myself, I have a particular fondness for young birds, but voles and mice provide endless hours of entertainment. Oh, don’t be so shocked, I’ve grown fat on the local bounty and mom thinks its the healthy cat food she feeds me.

Makes me laugh to think of how it is accepted that cats kill with no compunction, but dogs are considered dangerous if they attack and kill another animal. Acceptance for one and condemnation for another. In humans men make war, they kill, rape and plunder, while women and children are the victims they kill, rape and plunder. Just the way I see it.
Ah, well, as I was saying full moon rising, temperatures full on, shows about to begin.
